Our Gite in Normandy is situated in the hamlet of Condé sur Sarthe (Department 61 - L'Orne) on the outskirts of the historic town of Alençon and at the base of the Foret d'Ecouves. La Guépinière dates to the 15th century and was once a hunting lodge serving the local gentry at the nearby châteaux.

The Gite has been renovated to an extremely high standard by local artisans - the original exposed beams are a striking feature. The gite offers luxury accommodation for up to 7 guests with a private garden area and heated swimming pool.
Alençon which is famous for its lace, offers weekly markets, stunning architecture, a number of restaurants, bars and cafes. Lower Normandy is also famous for its horse breeding and the Haras du Pin National Stud Farm (which is open to the public) is well worth a visit. In the gite we have a wealth of information on activities and places to visit and the Alençon Tourist Office is extremely helpful and they speak extremely good English.
The Gite at La Guépinière is a mere 3 km from the centre of Alençon and equally close to the most beautiful forests where you can see deer, wild boar and an amazing variety of birds.
Drive into the surrounding countryside and aquaint yourself with beautiful villages and châteaux.
The Gite is ideally situated for those wanting accommodation for the Le Mans 24 hour motor race (or the 24 hour motor bike race) as we are only just over half an hour from Le Mans by car.
Paris and all that it has to offer is approximately 2 hours by car or 1 hour 40 minutes by train/TGV from Alençon via Le Mans direct into the centre.
Alençon is only a short distance from the start of the Loire and is convenient for trips to Brittany.
